Hey y’all! Meet Sandy Cheeks, the only mammal living in Bikini Bottom! Sandy is a super-duper smart scientist, inventor, lover of extreme sports, and a martial arts master all the way from Houston, Texas! Sandy is one of SpongeBob and Patrick’s best buds. She survives underwater by wearing a special air-suit which allows her to breathe underwater. The only place she doesn’t need the suit? In her oxygen-filled treedome, of course!
Sandy has been there for so many of the SpongeBob original series’ iconic moments, like when SpongeBob and Patrick came to visit her in her oxygenated home and almost dried up, or when she gave Larry the Lobster and the rest of Bikini Bottom’s buffest a run for their money in the Goo Lagoon Anchor Toss competition. When it comes to Sandy, believe that she is not to be messed with the week before hibernation season starts - and if any Alaskan Bull Worms come to town, she can hold her own (at least against their tongues).
Sandy is voiced by Carolyn Lawrence. She first appears in the original SpongeBob series in Season 1, Episode 1c: Tea at the Treedome. Sandy appears in all three of the SpongeBob SquarePants theatrical releases, but she also has her very own movie - Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie! Sandy also appears in the spin-off series Kamp Koral: The Under Years and The Patrick Star Show.
