Independent, passionate, and determined, Katara holds on to hope in a hopeless world. She’s got a huge heart, and often puts the needs of others ahead of her own. She believes in the goodness and potential of others, even if they don’t believe in themselves. Known for her inspiring talks, Katara can rally anyone to her cause. She has never faced a challenge too daunting and is always willing to jump into harm's way to fight an injustice. And when put to the test in combat, she won’t back down!

Katara began teaching herself waterbending at an early age, when the Hundred Year War separated her and her brother Sokka from their parents. Through the dark times, she never lost hope the Avatar would someday return to save the world. But she never imagined that she would be the one to find him. After Katara freed Aang from the iceberg, she dedicated herself to helping him end the war. She became a waterbending master and powerful healer along the way, using her abilities to save Aang’s life more than once and fighting side-by-side with Zuko against Azula, eventually besting her.
